Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Tech Support / System Administrator to provide IT support for
approximately 85 employees while maintaining and securing our IT environment. This role combines daily end-user support with administration of Microsoft 365, Azure cloud services, and core IT systems. The position works closely with the Senior Infrastructure Engineer and assists with security monitoring, system administration, and ongoing IT projects and initiatives. This position operates on a hybrid  schedule.

Responsibilities:

End-User & Technical Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee IT requests.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Provide support for Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive).
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding tasks, including device setup and account provisioning.
  • Offer guidance and training to employees on IT tools and security best practices.

System & Cloud Administration

  • Monitor and maintain performance, availability, and security of Microsoft Azure services.
  • Support Azure cloud resource monitoring (VMs, storage, backups, conditional access).
  • Maintain user provisioning, permissions, and group policies across hybrid AD/Azure AD environments.
  • Perform routine updates, patches, and system checks.
  • Assist with IT asset inventory, licensing, and lifecycle management.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with IT security policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Review and monitor security/system logs and alerts.
  • Assist the Senior Infrastructure Engineer with implementing corrective actions.
  • Enforce endpoint protection, MFA, conditional access, and other security measures.
  • Support vulnerability remediation and compliance reporting.
  • Help ensure adherence to IT security policies and regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Escalation

  • Partner with the Senior Infrastructure Engineer on infrastructure projects and IT initiatives.
  • Escalate complex or advanced issues for further investigation/resolution.
  • Collaborate with outside vendors as needed for escalated support or specialized systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge sharing to the IT Team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–4 years of experience in technical support or system/cloud administration, preferably in a small- to mid-sized environment
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, or similar environments
  • Familiarity with Intune and device management.
  • Basic to intermediate networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, Wi-Fi).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to balance support requests with system administration responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 compliance tools (preferred)
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud/on-premises environments (preferred)
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (preferred)
