Sales Strategist
Job Summary: Using a consultative approach, the Sales Strategist identifies, plans and conducts product and marketing learning opportunities with accounts to grow the business. He/she guides and trains assigned clients on benefit knowledge and useful marketing approaches to ensure program goals are met. This function maintains in-depth familiarity of all newly targeted and contracted accounts as well as reviews "getting started requirements" with all new clients. The Sales Strategist cultivates client relationships as well as monitors and reassesses account status to determine which accounts should be maintained or dropped.
Duties:
- Works in concert with clients and resellers to build relationships and help collaborate and implement strong marketing plans, to include how the group defines success
- Assists clients in identifying and creating a collaborative team that develops and executes the sales plan
- Works with National Sales Executives to gather pertinent information from sales discussions
- Initiates 8 step pre-implementation process with all new clients once the contract is drafted and sent to the client
- Understands and articulates all aspects of group set up and the associated time frames
- Sets implementation/workflow expectations with the client and collects pertinent information (client deliverables) based on marketing strategy
- Performs web-based and in-person training sessions with prospects and existing relationships
- Travels to designated accounts for training and program implementation
- Ensures all necessary forms are completed and fees are collected (Prospective Client Profile, Merchant Account, Custom 800#, et al.). Submits the Prospective Client Profile to clients as requested by salesperson
- Provides operations and sales advice to clients by working with VP, Client Marketing
- Reinforces use of approved vendor verbiage and RSS feeds in all marketing materials/websites
- Compiles monthly and annual activity and debriefing reports to Executive Staff and Sales Department. Makes recommendations regarding future support of unprofitable business
- Performs 30 day, 60 day and 12 month activity reviews to determine account status
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of health care/discount/insurance industry
- Assists New Benefits employees with client-related issues
- New Benefits tour-certified/conduct tours of New Benefits facilities for clients
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience
- TX Life and Health Insurance license preferred
- Experience in insurance sales and marketing with an emphasis on traditional worksite marketing and group insurance sales a plus
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook
- Strong presentation skills
- Professional written and verbal skills
